Collections
There are over 8000 individual items in the collection from all aspects of skiing, riding and mountain operations and the collection continues to grow. We're always on the hunt for interesting items to add so before you sell or toss that old gear, snap a picture and send it to us to see if it could be preserved for future generations to enjoy.
ALPine Skiing
Vermont has played such a crucial role in the development in alpine skiing from the first rope tow in North America to home of some of the prestigious European brands of skis and now to several locally made 'craft ski' brands. We have hundreds of skis, boots, binding, poles, clothing and other interesting bits and pieces (yes, even some old boot trees - remember those!). There are skis from all brands and eras, going all the way back to the extra-long hand made wooden skis.
Nordic skiing
Vermont has produced more than its share of Olympic nordic skiers and is home to some of the finest nordic ski trails and operations in the country including the infamous Catamount Trail. Our nordic collection is expansive and includes everything from early wooden skis to jumpers used at one of the many former ski jumps in Vermont, to racing equipment, wax, clothing and other memorabilia.
Snowboarding
Where would snowboarding be today without the role that Vermonter's played in the sport? From the early competitions at Suicide Six to the home of the world's biggest snowboard brand, Burton, snowboarding and Vermont are intricately tied together. We have got a ways to go in building our snowboard collection so please keep us in mind when you're ready to part with that gear. However, when you visit you'll find boards from Vermont Olympians Ross Powers and Betsy Shaw as well as several Snurfers, the brand that really got things going.
