Join author Dan Egan on Thursday, September 9th at 7:00 PM for our Virtual Writer's on the Red Bench; Thirty Years in a White Haze, Dan Egan's Story of Worldwide Adventure and the Evolution of Extreme Skiing.
Dan and his brother John, a couple of kids from New England have traveled some of the world's most remote regions, searching for and finding the extreme limits of the sport. In Thirty Years in a White Haze, Dan, a true storyteller, tells his story of the evolution of extreme skiing amidst history, family, and adventure.
Dan Egan is a world-renowned skier and pioneer of extreme sports. He has appeared in thirteen Warren Miller ski films and is known for skiing the most remote regions of the world with his brother John Egan. In 2001, Powder Magazine named him one of the most influential skiers of our time and in 2016, he was inducted into the US Skiing & Snowboarding Hall of Fame.
Vermont has been an important part of Dan's skiing history:
Dan witnessed his brother become a skiing icon at Sugarbush. Dan also started his ski career here when he decided to join John and pause his academic endeavors at Babson
Dan jumped his first "real cliff" at Mad River Glen in the early 1980s
Dan and John were on the North Face Extreme Team and started their Advanced Ski Clinics at Bolton Valley before eventually expanding to Jay Peak
We're delighted to welcome Dan to the Red Bench and can't think of a better way to get us all stoked for the upcoming ski season.
